A Summer Road Trip with Blog Trends

Blog Trends is going on summer road trip and we want you to come with us! Sadly, there’s not enough room in the car and truthfully, just one of us is going (semantics), but it’s the digital age! Come with us on a virtual road trip via Twitter and Instagram. We don’t want you to just watch the journey though, we’d love your input.

Our two main road trip destinations:

Portland, Oregon and Austin, Texas.

We would LOVE to know what your favorites are in each city. Favorite spot for lunch, favorite spot for photo ops, favorite food truck, favorite night club, favorite ice cream shop, favorite vintage shops, favorite coffee shops, favorite landmarks, favorite museums, favorite anything! If you think it’s a must see, we want to know.

How can you submit your favorites? Easy breezy! Simply comment on this post. If you aren’t a blog-trends.com member (Why aren’t you a member?! You should sign up right now, it only takes a moment and allows you complete access to our fabulous community) make sure to leave your Twitter and/or Instagram username in the comment so that we can share our photos with you if we make it out to your suggested destinations.

We can’t wait to hear from you… Ready, Set, GO!

WOOT AUSTIN, TX! I’ve lived here a year, and every day I find cool new things, places and people. Such a fantastic city!

    Here are my recommendations:
    1. Hopdoddy Burger Bar off South Congress. Incredible drinks and tasty burgers!
    2. BBQ is a must-have when visiting. Hit up Franklin’s BBQ as early as you can to get first dibs on the finest BBQ ATX has to offer. Once they sell out, they sell out! If you can’t do Franklin’s, Rudy’s is a cheap and tasty option. But The Salt Lick has held the #1 spot of THE BEST BBQ for many years here in Austin.
    3. I’m a fan of Cheer Up Charlie’s for nightlife. It’s a LGBT bar, but everyone is so amazingly friendly. You will definitely cheer up :) I’m also a fan of Liberty Bar, it holds Paul Qui’s (Top Chef Texas Winner) East Side Kings food trailer in the back. Two birds, one stone!
    4. Wouldn’t hurt to see if Mohawk has any cool bands you may like. I love catching my favorite bands there! Their bar has portraits of very beardy-moustache-y men. My kind of eye candy ;)
    5. Of course, you must visit the Capitol. It’s free!
    6. Swing by the Long Center & take a picture on their patio. Best place for a skyline view of our great city.
    7. While at the Long Center, take a 4 mile walk around Town Lake! Along the way, you’ll find a place to rent a canoe or kayak. For $15, it’s a great workout and way to experience Austin as an Austinite!
    8. Maybe you wanna meet up for coffee at Austin Java? I’m there almost every day. Love their fair-trade, local brew. MmmMMM!
    9. YOU MUST MUST visit the Whole Foods off Lamar & 6th. It’s where all the magic began. You’ll find everything here. Fresh, natural foods. Nice places to sit & drink and there’s even a playground on the top level! Let your inner child go wild!
    10. Last but not least, take a stroll down South Congress. So many neat shops and food trailers to try. You also must make a pit stop at Big Top Candy Shop. Sweets galore!

Hope that’s enough recommendations! Hit me up via twitter if you need any suggestions! @atxtrina Enjoy Austin and feel free to be as weird as you wish ?

Wow, didn’t realise there was so much to do there. My lil bro is a massive Stevie Ray Vaughan fan (who apparently hails from Austin, so he tells me).

That isn’t my neck of the woods, so I can’t really help you on the list. It does sound like quite a drive, so I hope that all went well.
