#FollowFriday the Right Way

Every Friday on Twitter you have probably just gotten used to the flood of @mention lists complete with a #FF hashtag, but do you EVER even look at these profiles? Probably not…

Don’t get me wrong, “Follow Friday” is a great concept but I think it has gotten lost a bit so I am here to help us bring it back and build some strong bonds in the process. How do we do this? Simple, instead of including as many names as you can fit into 1 Tweet, I challenge you to Tweet only 1 name at a time with a reason you recommend following that person.

I would recommend picking 5-10 people each week and send out individual Tweets throughout the day that lets your followers know why you enjoy following this person. Your followers will find far more value from this approach and the people you are giving a shout out to will only love you even more for it. It is a great tool to build relationships and help bring back the original magic of #FollowFriday!

#FF any of our #BlogTrends members because they are stylish, ambitious, and intelligent ladies(and gents!)

So true- I never click on those lists. People want a reason to do things!

I honestly don’t either, however if someone names a person and a great reason to follow I usually will!

When Follow Friday was new, I would click on the lists but now it has disappeared into the chatter and I barely notice it or do it myself.

When it’s a crazy list with no reasons to follow, I never do. Great advice!
